Several weeks ago, with my last contract coming to an end, a prospective employer asked if was still interested in their job opportunity after the in-person interview, I told them yes. I was interested and expected at least an offer in the coming days. Instead the manager of the position was going to be out until the new year started and that she would make a decision on candidates soon after. But with two days before my contract ending, my manager told me that they would like to extend me for another six weeks. What was I to do? Well, I couldn’t accept an extension when I told the other company I was still interested and I couldn’t accept an extension and then leave if I was given an offer. Plus I didn’t really want to stay.
Where am I now? Well, I have two more interviews on Tuesday and like to think at least one will lead to an offer. Who knows? What have I done in the last few weeks? Well, not much. Really. I’ve decided to cut out the self-employment/blog drivel non-sense and attempt to focus completely on the day job, whatever job it is, for the 40 hours a week. Then just try to enjoy my time away from work and computers and the internet.
